DIY: From Straight-Cut To Skinny!

Okay so after my first DIY, here comes the second! And I know there will be more coming! I love to make DIY clothes! At least I know I won't cross paths to anyone wearing the same thang right? ahaha!

A lot of you are wondering how on earth I made my blue pants skinny? Read-on to find-out how! This has got to be the easiest DIY project I did with just 2 steps only haha!

I bought this pants at Landmark, but I am not happy with its shape. The straight cut is not flattering for my legs so I knew I had to make it skinny.
First step, reverse your pants making sure the inside part (where the seams and sew lines are), are outside. Now mark your pants (using your pencil) how skinny you'd like your pants to be. Mine's really skinny which began from the knees down to the hem.

Most likely your pants fit well from your waist down to your knees, and it usually have problems on the leg area. So you don't need to start on the crotch or hips area at all. Just always begin on the knees.

Once satisfied with the lines you made, you may now start sewing. I used my portable sewing machine using the long stitch mode, you can also do back stitch. Now if you don't have a sewing machine, you can use your hands to sew. Just be sure you know how to make back stitch. I suggest you always use back stitch when you plan to do manual sewing with your hands.

I started sewing from the hem and I embedded the stitches on the lines I created. Always follow the line so you won't get crooked seams later on. Now when you are near the end of the line you did, always end it on the original stitch of the pants. Meaning, end the last stitch on top of the stitch you can see on your pants. (does this sound magulo? haha!) Why do you need to do this? So that, when you wear the pants, you won't see crooked seams or visible stitches.

THAT'S IT PANSIT!!! do steps 1 and 2 on the other leg, and whoala! You'll have an instant skinny pants!

Try it yourself!:) HOPE YOU'LL LIKE THIS POST!

Blue Pants

this has got to be another favorite outfit post as of this very split seconds haha! I just love my outfit combined well with the background and all you can see is the stand-out blue pants!:) Let me tell you something, this pants is a cheap buy from Landmark. It is originally a straight blue jeans, but then the straightness of it does not flatter my legs so I had to DIY the pants to make it skinny. How did I do it? I will post a complete easy step-by-step guide on the coming days!:)

Oh wait before I forgot, notice the black necklace? It's my newest design, a wrap-around cobweb necklace worn  in 3 wraps! If you want one for yourself, watch-out on Simone's Closet 38th collection this July!:)

DIY Mullet Dress

I was doing a lot of clothing DIYs since when I was in high school but it was only now that I got a chance to document the process haha! So bear with me as I tell you how I did my mullet dress that I wore to the 4 th day of the PFW! If you saw me there then you'll have an idea what dress is it. Anyway will blog about my outfit after this post.

Here you go...

Be sure that the table is long enough to spread out your dress. You need to see every point of the dress so you'll know where to fold and cut.

Now fold the dress in the center just like folding your pants when you are ironing it. Make sure that you get the sides straight. The idea is to get the center to the edge so when you cut the dress and open it, both sides are pantay. oh gosh I hope you got what I mean haha!!!! Ang hirap but I know you'll get my point afterwards.

Now when you finally got the center part on the edge, you can now cut it according to your desire. I like my dress to have rounded edge, so I cut it like a half circle. If you want yours straight, cut it straight like a square.

After cutting, you'll notice that the edges are not neat so you need to sew them! I have a small sewing machine so that's what I used. I was able to sew the hem for only 10minutes hehe! :)

Here's the finished product!

Up next I'll blog about how it is when worn haha!:) HOPE YOU LIKED MY DIY project!:) Will be posting more soon!:)
