Q&A part 1

Hi everyone! Here is the part 1 post of me answering your questions on my HANDMADE ACCESSORIES GIVEAWAY! It still on-going so you can still join! Let us proceed with your questions!:)

1. WHO DOES YOUR SHOOT FOR SIMONE'S CLOSET COLLECTION?

Since we started shooting outdoors for SIMONE'S CLOSET lookbook albums, my hubby is my one and only photographer! He uses a canon DSLR with a 50mm lens :)

2. WHERE DID YOU PERM YOUR HAIR?

haha sorry the curls are still wet on the right photo. I got my hair permed at AZTA URBAN SALON SM, San Lazaro last year and the curls are so gorgeous even more now that they are way past 5 6 months already :) Definitely worth a penny! 

3. CLOSET MUST-HAVES?

these are my top 3 closet must-haves. I can live with a versatile dress, denim shorts, and a good-fitting blazer. I love dresses that I can dress-up and down and those that I can style in so many ways. I love denim shorts, the more rugged the better. It is actually my go-to piece when the weather is hot and if I can't think of any to wear. Any kind of top goes well with a pair of denim shorts. Lastly, a good-fitting blazer in black. I love blazers especially when I am not in the mood to dress-up. I just throw it over on my simple outfit and it adds a certain air of edginess and style.

4. WHAT IS FAVORITE BRAND OF PERFUME? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER DESTINATION?

I am not a fan of perfume that much but I like this Cherry Blossoms scent from Victoria's Secret. I only use this on a special occassion. Now my favorite is, this Bench body spray in pink the one in WATER LILY AND PEAR scent. I just find it so refreshing.

As for my summer destination, I dream of Boracay I have never been there, haha! I want to go there, only when I'll be walking on the sand for my beach wedding :)

5. HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR DRESS?

Well I have this ritual of giving some "day-off" to my dresses or clothes that I have worn. Like, the clothes I have worn this week, I won't wear them for two weeks. haha weird right? Some sort of rotation.Also, I avoid having them stained.

6. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT SPRING?

We only have summer here in the Philippines, so that I guess equates to spring season in the US haha! But seriously, I what I love about summer is, the sun. I love sunlight it makes my outfit shots more lively and interesting! haha! And of course, I get to wear denim shorts, and sun dresses.

7. WHAT IS THE GREATEST EVENT IN YOUR LIFE THAT HAVE CHANGED YOU A LOT?

I guess when I became pregnant very early. It was the turning-point of my life. I have never been so thankful for the day I found out I am going to be a mom. I was so low on those days of my life. I actually thought to give-up. A lot has judged me and accused me of a lot of things. I am thankful that God and hubby were there on those times. I have learned to accept things that are not within my plans. I just let God lead me to where He wants to be, and I am thankful  I am here right now, happy and fulfilled. 

I am so sensitive about topics like this. I have always wanted to inspire other people so I just want to say to all of you that no matter how puzzling your situation in life right at this moment, just trust God and never lose faith, He won't let you get harmed anyway. The path may be rough and dark but trust that at the end there is light.

8. DO YOU HAVE A BUDGET WHEN SHOPPING? 

When it comes to shopping I always alot a budget for it. I am not an over-spender and if I did shop over the budget it is always P100  over and nothing more hahaha! I am just used to it. That applies too when I shop for stuffs for Simone's Closet. I save more than shop more haha!

9. WHERE DO YOU USUALLY BUY THRIFTED/VINTAGE PIECES FOR YOUR SHOP?

If you are my reader since then, you'll know how much I love thrifted/vintage clothes. You won't see any outfit in this blog without any thrifted piece in it. I don't own any expensive or foreign brand of clothing though I can afford to buy one, it is just that I am just a lover of anything Pinoy brand and thrifted stuffs.

So whenever I shop thrifted clothes for Simone's Closet. I always squeeze-in time to shop for myself too.And I am always leaving the ukay shops with bags of clothes and a big smile ahaha! My favorite thrift shops are those in Quiapo, Morayta, Espanya, Q.Ave, and Del Monte Ave. 

10. HOW LONG DO YOU CONCEPTUALIZE A THEME FOR A COLLECTION YOU WILL BE LAUNCHING?

I don't conceptualize my collection until the photo shoot is done, and the accessories are already made.  I get to think of a title, and a print layout for my collection a week in time for the release of my teaser ads. I just want everything to flow nicely. Even the photo shoot is just done depending on the moods of my models, I don't use any pegs or sample poses.  I want the natural smile and beauty of my models to come-out.
