I finished Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations and never did I imagine I will fall into business. Aside from my love of doing anything creative, I guess my marketing skills and my talent in persuading people has somewhat been an enjoying thing to do for me. haha!
I guess a little knowledge about business, marketing, and accounting has helped me in managing my little business. For 3 years (going 4) I feel like playing in the whole process. Maybe because I simply love what I am doing (and that's what's important) You just don't go to business just because that's the BOOM right now. Be sure you sell what you love.
Anyway, I will be sharing with you the things I usually do for SIMONE'S CLOSET.
RESEARCH RESEARCH AND A LOT OF THINKING
Yes research has always been my number 1 best friend when it comes to business. I have to know my market and at least try to be in their own shoes for me to realize how to market well my products.
I do research my competitors too :) Well to at least gauge how I am gonna establish my brand and me a mile-long different from them. You know how much I hate copycats and all that hehe so I have to be observant and creative enough to push Simone's Closet to its best and be solely known on our own identity :)
BRANDING IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME. :)
BUSINESS SIDE, CREATIVE SIDE, PRODUCT SIDE. THEY'RE ALL ON ME
yes I handle all of those haha! I am a bit perfectionist and I make sure everything is all set from the products, to the promotions, and up to the communications part. That notebook over there is my business diary which contains, my accessories designs, computations, order records, and future plans.
And if you;re wondering if I am the one who chats with you and answers your pm's yes it's me! hehe! :)
STOCKS AND INVENTORY
Aside from planning the entire collection - the products we will be selling, the theme of the collection, the photo shoot, the collaborations with bloggers and all that, I guess the hardest part of all is to assemble the entire collection. I have to make sure I have enough pieces of clothing, accessories and good promo.
Going to supplier here and there, shopping for stocks and making sure ALL are in good quality, really eats time.
And see those huge tupper wares? Those are my treasure boxes that hold the collection's pieces.

GETTING ORDERS AND DOING REMAKES. PACKING AND SHIPPING TOO
Yes I do them too!!! I make all the accessories from scratch except the bracelets with which my mom helps me in braiding and putting locks. When it comes to packing and shipping, I do them too. From folding to packing, to securing the package, and even writing the waybills, yes I do them haha! kumbaga everything has a touch of me talaga! haha!
In business, big or small, what matters is you love what you do and you do it with passion. Play the game fair. I am not a business expert but I hope this post somewhat became a bridge for you in knowing more about Simone's Closet.
